Symptoms of Type One Diabetes

Type I diabetes is characterized by following symptoms:
- Polyuria - Frequent urination
- Polydipsia - Increased Thirst
- Polyphagia - Increased Appetite
The above symptoms develop in early stages of Type 1 diabetes. Apart from these evident symptoms the patient may also experience :
- Weight Loss despite normal or increased eating
- Irreducible fatigue
- Blurred Vision - High blood glucose level for long results in change in the shape of eye lens affecting the normal vision.
- Dehydration
If not treated properly in time the following may develop:
Ketoacidosis - Characterized by acetonic smell in breath, rapid and deep breathing, nausea, confusion, abdominal pain to mention a few.
