Symptoms of Type One Diabetes - Know Diabetes

Type I diabetes is characterized by following symptoms:

• Polyuria - Frequent urination
• Polydipsia - Increased  Thirst
• Polyphagia - Increased Appetite

The above symptoms develop in early stages of Type 1 diabetes. Apart from these evident symptoms the patient may also experience :

• Weight Loss despite normal or increased eating
• Irreducible fatigue
• Blurred Vision - High blood glucose level for long results in change in the shape of eye lens affecting the normal vision.
• Dehydration

If not treated properly in time the following may develop:

Ketoacidosis - Characterized by acetonic smell in breath, rapid and deep breathing, nausea, confusion, abdominal pain to mention a few.
